Our attention has been drawn to a text message being circulated to some members of PDP Arochukwu LG, by an imposter, Mr. Anthony Nwankwo claiming to be the PDP party chairman, Arochukwu Local government.
The purported SMS reads “STAKEHOLDERS MEETING;
You are cordially invited to a crucial meeting of PDP STAKEHOLDERS Arochukwu LGA.
DATE : 23/7/2020 (Thursday)
VENUE : DR. Philip Nto’s new residence, Umuahia, near zone 9 Police.
TIME : 11am
FOR YOUR INFORMATION ONLY.
ATTENDANCE IS STRICTLY ON INVITATION.

It is general knowledge that in March, 2020 PDP National Headquarters conducted a free and fair Wards and LGA Congresses nationwide including Abia State PDP Chapter and winners emerged.
The new PDP chairman Arochukwu LGA, Hon. Okemini has since been sworn in and started work.
It is therefore, a bizarre unfathomable that one Mr. Anthony Nwankwo the immediate past Arochukwu LGA party, backed by some people will still be criminally parading himself as Arochukwu LGA PDP party chairman.
It is curious that same persons challenged the outcome of the peaceful PDP congress under the leadership of our able Governor of Abia state, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and also the Deputy Chairman PDP Governors Forum, even as the congress was adjudged to be the most transparent, free and fair in the State High Court .
These serial election losers and their Co- travellers in Arochukwu LGA after all entreaties from the Abia State PDP chairman and her state working Committee conveying on behalf of the Governor of the state and the National Party and other major stakeholders, the authenticity of the congresses and the need for them to allow common sense prevail, yet they instituted a legal action against our amiable Governor of Abia state amongst others in the pending suite at the state high Court umuahia, challenging the outcome of the congresses in Arochukwu LGA.
We wonder the intention of the host who is the Provost of Abia State College Of Technical Arochukwu, a serving government official to provide an avenue to create faction in the PDP Arochukwu LGA with the Convener, who quickly fixed an illegal meeting immediately the Governor of Abia state returned from a protracted leave of absence to take care of his health.
This latest action alone by the Provost of ASECTA constitutes gross insubordination and disrespect to the office of the Governor being the leader of the party in the state and also widely respected by his colleague (PDP Governors) that unanimously elected him to deputise, nationally the Nigerian PDP Governor’s forum.
It becomes imperative to really enquire from these group of individuals, if they wished the Governor didn’t return. It is also most curious to state that even at the peak of His Excellency’s health challenge caused by COVID_19, they continued their ungodly divisiveness.
The Governor despite the excruciating health challenge through the PDP SWC managed to reach out to these dissident characters with an appeal not to take the party to court and on the need for everyone to abide by the legitimate supremacy of party decision on the congresses in PDP Abia State.
Does it mean they are willing tools in the hands of those distracting the Governor??
Moreso, their actions are pure contempt and affront to both the Judge and the entire Judiciary where in view of the pendency of their suit they are already acting otherwise.
Lot’s of questions are begging for answers.
We are particularly concerned that the supporters of these group are People from Arochukwu LGA holding Government appointments by sheer benevolence of the Governor irrespective of the fact that they all lost their various polling units to the opposition parties in the last 2019 General Elections.
The choice of venue for the meeting being the residence of the Provost Abia State college of Technical Arochukwu, who didn’t only lose his polling unit in the last general elections of 2019 but also lost his Ututu Ward where incidentally, Dr Phillips Nto share same village and Ututu wards with Prince Eric Aso, the 2019 PDP Arochukwu State House of Assembly candidate who lost to APC in the entire ward, including sabotaging the efforts of the Governor during the January 24, 2020, Arochukwu State Assembly rerun election by bolting away with funds earmarked for the purpose of mobilising party faithful in two units of his Ututu ward where the rerun was scheduled.
Deducing from the circumstances as stated above, it has now shown clearly, revealing the launching pad for the group affront on the party and the Governor.
We can no longer fold our hands and watch these elements destroy the victory we fought so hard for.
We are bringing the information to the notice of all PDP stakeholders and members in Abia state to call these group of persons to order.
